Written by , Posted in Travel

Without further ado, lets throw it back to the day we took a quick family vacay.  If you are interested in reading the trailing posts for this short vacation please read here and here. It is a breather for this Mamma to have 6 years old and a 1 year old. They are always on the move, together. I remember the vacations when Muli was still our only child. She was missing out on most fun activities because momma and dad are not finding joy in running around all day.  Now that she has a play buddy, she take full advantage of playing. The […]

Weekend getaway – Protea Farm Tractor Ride

Written by , Posted in Travel

I am sitting here it is 20h15, I just tucked kids to bed.  Cullo is at church.  I needed to drown my sorrows.  So I reached out to my laptop, the joys of being a bloger.  Ha!. Today I did a mistake, I hit a send button too soon.  Oops!.  I sent an email requesting a quote from a crontacor.  And guest what was attached?.  The design drawings for a system I am requesting a quote for and a budget I sent to a client.  That means the contractor have seen the budget for a job.  After mourning for about an hour I said […]

Written by , Posted in Travel

Last week we kicked off our weekend with a weekend getaway. Since it was school holidays we thought it will be a good idea to take a breather. We spent two nights at Montagu Springs. We had plans to pass by some interesting places en route our destination but, as soon as we set in the car Zee slept. It felt unfair to wake her up. The drive was 2.5 hours so we just drove straight to our destination. We checked in On Friday and left on Sunday afternoon.  We stayed in a cozy Villa, nestled in the lovely greenery of Montagu Springs.  Far […]

Cape Town Aquarium Sleep Over – Saving Water Like a Penguin.

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

Me and Muli have been looking forward to the Two Oceans Aquarium sleep over since it was announced by the end of Feb. Perfect theme, saving water like a penguin as Cape Town is faced with water crisis.  A good initiative to educate both kids and adults in a playful environment. Muli was anticipating loads of fun because she has done their yearly sleepovers before.  All the time she had fun and makes friends that she claim are her BFF’s, only to never see them again. Ha!.  As for me I have my adult reasons that made me to look forward to the sleep […]

A night at Mangwanani Spa

I lack in taking care of my body with regular massages. I am glad Cullo complement this area. Cullo often gives me massage gift vouchers for my birthdays or as a gesture of appreciation. Every time I come from the treatment, I swear to myself that I will do it once in a year term. And after I say it, I immediately forget, up until that time I receive a gift voucher from Cullo. . It feels good to unwind and let professionals to relieve my muscle knots. Going with Cullo to a spa is way better than having a meal together at a swanky […]

Hanging with African Penguins at Boulders Beach.

The best things in life aren’t planned…They simply just happen. That’s how the past weekend turned out.  We planned to go hang around with Penguins at Boulders Beach.  The plan was for us to be there at 10am and be back just past lunch time, in time for Zee’s nap time.  I wanted to go watch The Black Panther at the cinema. As it turned out, by 10am we were parked at our friends house drive through.  There was no one in the house.  Their reason was understandable though.  They woke up early to run some errand      s, on their […]

Friends, family and Sunset on Table Mountain.

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

It would be nice to add watching sunset in to my daily routine.  I actually must add it because watching the sunset brings my mind into the present, for a moment nothing matters .  Indeed, nature is fuel to the soul. Lets go back to the updates about our friends who visited us from France.  If you want to catch up on the updates about their stay in Cape Town, you can go here, here and here. We took a cable car up the table mountain. While waiting for the sun to set we took a walk around, stopping now and […]

Friends, balancing work and family life is no child’s play.  There are weeks when I feel like I am winning at this balance, some weeks I get hit by guilt over everything.  Guilt of thinking and missing my kids when I am at work.  Guilt that I am not committed enough to my work when I am spending time with my family.  The guilt is real but hey I like my life and I will choose it again if there is a life after this.  Lets start were we left off about my friends from France.  Quickly go here and here […]

Around Cape Town with Friends from France.

This is the continuation from the previous post.  Check here for the previous post. Cape Town is a very popular holiday destination. I know so many off bitten paths in Cape Town, but for someone visiting cape Town for the first time there are three places they looking forward to see. The Majestic Table Mountain. The white sandy beaches and the historic Robben Island. My visitor’s only request was “please take us to Mandela’s cell”. And my reply was …consider it done. I put my plan on paper and wrote down every thing we will be doing together. They were came […]

When is the good time to visit Cape Town with kids…

Written by , Posted in Travel

20180127_165501

It all started with a message saying “…When is the good time to visit Cape Town”. My answer was if you want to catch the ZA festive vibe, visit in the beginning of December to the first week of January. There are lots of people at the tourist attraction places and it is all fun. BUT visiting with kids I will choose two weeks after festive craziness. To my delight they chose the latter. I was looking forward to play a tourist guide. It was very easy to prep a schedule given that they have two kids. I also have […]
