Where is my tog bag?.

Written by , Posted in Fitness

Am I the only one who likes rewards?.  Imagine if you were promised to lose a guaranteed 10kg after following an exercise programme for 10 days.  Would you not jump to the opportunity?.  Because I will.  Our gym club realised that it can not guarantee or promise us to lose a certain amount of weight at a certain time.  Then they promised to give out tog bags to new members.  All you need as a new member is go to gym 16 times in the next 2 months.  Very easy hey?. I had a problem with my gym contract so […]

The toughest part ever of the morning is simply getting out of bed.  My alarm went on at 6.00am.  I turned it off with as little movement as possible hoping to go back to sleep.  I did not.  I kept on thinking of my desire to run before my day start.  I had promised my cousin that I will do a trail run with her.  She was counting on me.  No way out, I had to wake up. By 8.10am I pulled up at Rhodes Memorial parking lot.  My cousin arrived in 2minutes.  Hugs and kisses and we were ready […]

You cannot fake your fitness up table mountain.  Neither will you keep your smile up to the top.  Hiking Table mountain test your character,  It challenges you physically, mentally and emotionally.  Couples arguments get so intense that I sometimes wonder if they will survive once the hike is finished ha!.  I have seen people throwing up pursuing to reach the summit, some on the halfway swearing never to do it again.  “HELP ME GOD”, a loud plea from a young lady about to start the hike.  We bust out laughing. On Saturday we went hiking.  When I heard that the […]

Century City 10km race.

Written by , Posted in Fitness

It is always nice to find time to run without having something to disrupt me.  I am a predawn type of a girl.  That does not mean I just flip my blankets in the wee hours of the morning and hit the road.  Sometimes I moan  but often I make it to the road predawn.  Waking up might be difficult but it is the feeling of accomplishment just after I reach a finish line that makes it easy to kick those blankies in the morning. On Saturday I ran Century City 10km Express race.  I was fooled by the word […]

Written by , Posted in Fitness

Are you running Koeberg 15K on Saturday?.  That was my friend asking me. Hey, we are running a 8K this Saturday, said my sister who lives 1500km away from Cape Town. On Friday midnight as I was laughing my lungs out with a friend, she kindly reminded me to call it a night so I can be preserve the energy  for the race.  There were dark clouds on Saturday morning when I leave home.  Possibility of rain crossed my mind but turning back was not an option.   I have made promises to my sister and my friends, rain or shine […]

Its been a while my cyber friends.  It will all sounds great if I say I was supper busy, but guess what?.  I was not busy at all.  I was just soaking up time, catching up with friends and going to play dates with amazing mommies.  Muli had a great time meeting her old friends.  I did not refuse any invite for a drink with old friends.  I had friends calling to say “Nez open the door I’m outside”. Friends popped in while I was busy folding laundry or while I was watching my favourite TV series.  All can wait.   […]

Obsessed with Mills Body Pump.

Written by , Posted in Fitness

Remember my latest adventure – French gym.  Well, what started as a mere fun adventure has turned in to a fun routine.  I am a bit obsessed with Mills Body Pump.  What makes it more fun is that I know that my obsession wont last long as I have few weeks left to pack my bags and go back home – SA. I often go 3 times a week to body pump class.  I would have loved to go more but after an hour of lifting I need a day to recover sore muscles. I get three different trainers a […]

The Cher Valley Adventure.

Written by , Posted in Fitness

I woke up missing running along Cher Valley.  I can run there every morning if possible.  The only draw back is that I have to wake up extra earlier because the is no shading on the trial unlike at Park de la Gloriette.  I started my run earlier to avoid the summer heat. My mind was ready for the challenge. It was very quiet with occasional passing of some runners.  Morning runners here are not as friendly as the once in South Africa.  Back in South Africa we greet each other with warm smiles that makes one feel like they […]

The first mile is the hardest.

Written by , Posted in Fitness

Hello Friends Hope you are doing great and loving the season.  I know for sure that back in SA they experiencing dry winter inland and wet winter in the coastal areas.  We are fully in summer season here and some rains.  I kicked off my day with a run.  I woke up 10 minutes earlier than normal.  I wanted to see the red sky just  before the sun set.  I was right on time. The first mile was a nightmare.  If it was not of this view I swear I could have walked all the distance instead of running.  There […]

Morning run!

Written by , Posted in Fitness

My morning ran was amazing.  The feeling of morning breeze passing through my body forcing sleep to come to an end is just awesome.  Just before I can fully become awake, I met a bunch of ducks. I could just see that summer time is their favourite season.  Like wise, I enjoy running in the early mornings of summer days.   The birds were calling and frogs singing making sounds that cannot be heard in daytime.  Trees were swaying as the wind blows gently.   I spotted a man camping in the park.  No tent.  Just him and his few belongings.  […]
