Our Summer Holidays in Pictures.

Written by , Posted in Travel

In the previous post I mentioned that we did not travel this summer holidays.  It was the first Christmas holidays ever for us as a couple and parents that we have spent in our house.  We normally go on a family vacation or travel to either my parents house or Cullo’s parents house. Like any working parent, my initial plan for the holidays was to play tourist here in Cape Town and entertain the kids to make up for all those days I was working.  However I quickly realised that it wont be necessary, because kids were so relaxed and enjoying each […]

Weekend getaway – Protea Farm Tractor Ride

Written by , Posted in Travel

I am sitting here it is 20h15, I just tucked kids to bed.  Cullo is at church.  I needed to drown my sorrows.  So I reached out to my laptop, the joys of being a bloger.  Ha!. Today I did a mistake, I hit a send button too soon.  Oops!.  I sent an email requesting a quote from a crontacor.  And guest what was attached?.  The design drawings for a system I am requesting a quote for and a budget I sent to a client.  That means the contractor have seen the budget for a job.  After mourning for about an hour I said […]

Friends, balancing work and family life is no child’s play.  There are weeks when I feel like I am winning at this balance, some weeks I get hit by guilt over everything.  Guilt of thinking and missing my kids when I am at work.  Guilt that I am not committed enough to my work when I am spending time with my family.  The guilt is real but hey I like my life and I will choose it again if there is a life after this.  Lets start were we left off about my friends from France.  Quickly go here and here […]

GO HIKE TABLE MOUNTAIN

Written by , Posted in Travel

IMG-20170903-WA0045

I have a beautiful view of Table Mountain every day when I drive to work. As you can imagine, I drive to work in the mornings when it is raining, cloudy and when the skies are clear blue. My favourite mornings are when when The Majestic Table Mountain get to be covered with a blanket of cloud. It is a view to be hold. I always feel like Table Mountain is calling me because of the daily view. The other day I decided to answer to the call. It was the second day of spring and I welcomed spring with […]

The toughest part ever of the morning is simply getting out of bed.  My alarm went on at 6.00am.  I turned it off with as little movement as possible hoping to go back to sleep.  I did not.  I kept on thinking of my desire to run before my day start.  I had promised my cousin that I will do a trail run with her.  She was counting on me.  No way out, I had to wake up. By 8.10am I pulled up at Rhodes Memorial parking lot.  My cousin arrived in 2minutes.  Hugs and kisses and we were ready […]

Reminded of my travel romances: Bo-Kaap!

Written by , Posted in Travel

It was April and I just blinked and it is May.  How is that possible?.  Yikes!  If I did not document some of my adventures in April, I will swear I did not live the month.  Our walk in Bo-Kaap is one of the exhibit that it might seems like I blinked the month away, but I had 24hrs each day of the month. Colourful picturesque houses, cobbled stoned streets, narrow streets.  Tiny houses.  You might think I’m describing one of Paris’s exotic streets.  No, I’m talking about Bo-Kaap. It is a hidden jam right in Cape Town City Centre, […]

Birthday weekend.

Written by , Posted in Travel

The past weekend we celebrated Cullo’s birthday.  He does not want to fuss about his big day but I fuss because that day a little boy was born.  The little boy that God created just for me.  I feel the need to do something in remembrance of that day.  Even if its not buying him expensive gifts but a simple day spent remembering his birthday is good enough.   Three years back we attended Israel Mosehla’s concert and  Cullo’s liked his performance.  When I heard that he will be performing at Gospel Rhama Church I booked for us.  On Saturday […]

Back to school in SA-Cape Town.

Written by , Posted in All about Muli

backtoschool1_thumb.jpg

It was a big day in our house today.  Muli started kindergarten.  We have been talking about kindergarten for the past few days to prepare her mind for the big day. Its been a month since we arrived in SA from France.  We did not want to put Muli in school immediately.  We wanted her to adjust to life back home.  First few weeks when we arrived she could not understand why people could not respond to her.  It was frustrating to her.  She was speaking French, though she understood English. I stayed home with her for the past four […]

Camps bay beach in Cape Town

Written by , Posted in Travel

Oh! how I missed the white, long sandy beaches of Cape Town.  Last week we spent most of our days at Camps bay.  Camps bay is one of the trendiest and most beautiful beaches in Cape Town. It attracts thousands of local people and tourist in summer seasons.  Last week the beach was not packed as it was a week after new years day.  There is so much to do to pass time.  One can just lie down by the palm trees and be delighted as they feast the eyes to the amazing view of lions head. I also like […]
