Written by , Posted in Travel

In the previous post I mentioned that we did not travel this summer holidays.  It was the first Christmas holidays ever for us as a couple and parents that we have spent in our house.  We normally go on a family vacation or travel to either my parents house or Cullo’s parents house. Like any working parent, my initial plan for the holidays was to play tourist here in Cape Town and entertain the kids to make up for all those days I was working.  However I quickly realised that it wont be necessary, because kids were so relaxed and enjoying each […]

Cape Town Aquarium Sleep Over June 2018

Written by , Posted in Uncategorized

The past few weeks have been challenging.  Our helper resigned and left mid of this month.  My work week hours were longer.  It was tougher to achieve work life balance.  As a mom of a 7 years old and an almost two year old, have learnt, like all moms will attest that they grow up fast.  No matter how hectic it is, spending time with and serving my family is a priority. That is why it was easy for me to sighn up for yet another sleep over at the aquarium, that was held this past Saturday.  Cape Town Two Ocean Aquarium host […]

Without further ado, lets throw it back to the day we took a quick family vacay.  If you are interested in reading the trailing posts for this short vacation please read here and here. It is a breather for this Mamma to have 6 years old and a 1 year old. They are always on the move, together. I remember the vacations when Muli was still our only child. She was missing out on most fun activities because momma and dad are not finding joy in running around all day.  Now that she has a play buddy, she take full advantage of playing. The […]

I am sitting here it is 20h15, I just tucked kids to bed.  Cullo is at church.  I needed to drown my sorrows.  So I reached out to my laptop, the joys of being a bloger.  Ha!. Today I did a mistake, I hit a send button too soon.  Oops!.  I sent an email requesting a quote from a crontacor.  And guest what was attached?.  The design drawings for a system I am requesting a quote for and a budget I sent to a client.  That means the contractor have seen the budget for a job.  After mourning for about an hour I said […]

Redstone Hills is the name of collection of cottages situated at the Hills that are redish in color. The highlight of this area is the landscapes. It is tranquil. We rented a two bedroom cottage.  We stayed at Vineyard cottage. Our cottage was built in the 19th century.  They tried to keep the cottage in its original state.  It felt amazing to stay in a place with so much history. We kicked off our with a drive to town. Our holiday cottage was 30 km away from nearby town- Oudtshoorn. Initially we planned to do some touring in town but after […]

Redstone Hills – Buffelskloof farm Vacay Part 1

Who else cannot stand the ‘I am bored mommy’ talk from the kids during school holidays?.  My hand is up. Last week Saturday we packed the kids and drove 6 hours to this beautiful place – Redstone Hills in Oudtshoorn.  The journey was excellent.  Both of our kids are excellent little-travelling-buddies. We took Route 62 instead of our normal N1 route.  I am sure every body has heard about or has experienced  the vibe on Route 62.  Believe me when I say the vibe is strong.  The vibe on this route makes me to just want to be out of control.  You know the feeling […]

December was lived-in Salima

Yes,  it is now Feb and I am still thinking of December.  For me the joys of being a blogger is being able to re-live the past by writing. December month started with Zee turning 5 months.  Then big sister Muli finished  school term and was gearing for summer holidays.  As for me, I was dying to take a break from work and spend time with my cubs, family and friends. We wanted to spend all our summer holidays with Cullo’s family in Malawi.  We have not seen them in a while.  Grand parents have not met Zee, so it […]
