We had the most relaxing Christmas holidays.  We decided not to travel this December holidays.  It is difficult to leave more than 1300km from your parents and siblings.  Christmas is better spent with family and friends.  It was a bit lonely though but we had time to each other without the rush of work and school.  I also had a time to do and think about Christmas traditions we practised when growing up.  We also introduced new traditions for our young family.   I miss my Mother and siblings, I will see them in the early months of this year. I thought Muli school is beginning this morning.  I […]

Last week we kicked off our weekend with a weekend getaway. Since it was school holidays we thought it will be a good idea to take a breather. We spent two nights at Montagu Springs. We had plans to pass by some interesting places en route our destination but, as soon as we set in the car Zee slept. It felt unfair to wake her up. The drive was 2.5 hours so we just drove straight to our destination. We checked in On Friday and left on Sunday afternoon.  We stayed in a cozy Villa, nestled in the lovely greenery of Montagu Springs.  Far […]

I have a beautiful view of Table Mountain every day when I drive to work. As you can imagine, I drive to work in the mornings when it is raining, cloudy and when the skies are clear blue. My favourite mornings are when when The Majestic Table Mountain get to be covered with a blanket of cloud. It is a view to be hold. I always feel like Table Mountain is calling me because of the daily view. The other day I decided to answer to the call. It was the second day of spring and I welcomed spring with […]

Redstone Hills is the name of collection of cottages situated at the Hills that are redish in color. The highlight of this area is the landscapes. It is tranquil. We rented a two bedroom cottage.  We stayed at Vineyard cottage. Our cottage was built in the 19th century.  They tried to keep the cottage in its original state.  It felt amazing to stay in a place with so much history. We kicked off our with a drive to town. Our holiday cottage was 30 km away from nearby town- Oudtshoorn. Initially we planned to do some touring in town but after […]

Redstone Hills – Buffelskloof farm Vacay Part 1

Who else cannot stand the ‘I am bored mommy’ talk from the kids during school holidays?.  My hand is up. Last week Saturday we packed the kids and drove 6 hours to this beautiful place – Redstone Hills in Oudtshoorn.  The journey was excellent.  Both of our kids are excellent little-travelling-buddies. We took Route 62 instead of our normal N1 route.  I am sure every body has heard about or has experienced  the vibe on Route 62.  Believe me when I say the vibe is strong.  The vibe on this route makes me to just want to be out of control.  You know the feeling […]
