Redstone Hills is the name of collection of cottages situated at the Hills that are redish in color. The highlight of this area is the landscapes. It is tranquil. We rented a two bedroom cottage.  We stayed at Vineyard cottage. Our cottage was built in the 19th century.  They tried to keep the cottage in its original state.  It felt amazing to stay in a place with so much history. We kicked off our with a drive to town. Our holiday cottage was 30 km away from nearby town- Oudtshoorn. Initially we planned to do some touring in town but after […]

Redstone Hills – Buffelskloof farm Vacay Part 1

Who else cannot stand the ‘I am bored mommy’ talk from the kids during school holidays?.  My hand is up. Last week Saturday we packed the kids and drove 6 hours to this beautiful place – Redstone Hills in Oudtshoorn.  The journey was excellent.  Both of our kids are excellent little-travelling-buddies. We took Route 62 instead of our normal N1 route.  I am sure every body has heard about or has experienced  the vibe on Route 62.  Believe me when I say the vibe is strong.  The vibe on this route makes me to just want to be out of control.  You know the feeling […]

You know those awkward days when you leave home without kids,  you feel so happy and excited to venture out without kids and yet time and again you cant help but feel like you forgot something.  Well that was me this day. If you know me, you know that I am happiest when I am spending most of my time with my kids.  As a working mom, it is not easy to strike a balance between work and family not to mention making time for friends.   At the end of the week I am only left with few hours to spend with kids. Naturally, over […]

I jinxed it and Fathers day

Written by , Posted in My Thoughts

Its been long since I visited this space.  Thanks to the long weekend and been down with flu.  The irritating part of this flu is that I jinxed it. On Wednesday I was talking to my colleague saying that I have been taking Vitamin C at least 4 times a week for the past 2 months hoping that my immunity will be stronger and I don’t get flu this winter.  I got home and told Cullo the same thing.  I even said that Vitamin C working.  Shame on me. Guess what, when I came from work on Thursday I had flu symptoms. I […]

A day in a life.

Written by , Posted in My Thoughts

I have decided to do a day in a life post because I was frustrated.  I have three things that I feel I should be doing but I am not getting time to do them.  I planned to read the whole bible this year but time dololo.  I seriously should be writing more often and updating my blog post but I find no time for that.  I have books I should have finished reading but going very slow. I just sat down and wrote what chows my time.  Lets see why does it seems I have 4 hours in a […]

Safari in Africa-Luangwa 2

(December Update) Excuse me in advance for being too wordy. I want to safely bottle the phenomenal moments we experienced so that I can relieve them many years to come when I read this post. Continuing from the Safari in Africa-Luangwa 1 here, we woke up with raw energy from sleeping so close to nature (I mean we slept with a lizard hunting in our room, ha!). We had breakfast a bit late (with kids it was expected). Our tour guide or game ranger joined us for meals. I liked the idea. That means for the 4 nights of our […]

3 month update

{Zee is  7 months now.  I got this unpublished posts in my drafts and could not let this important update go to trash}. Our youngest girl is 3 months old today.  We never thought this much contentment is possible.  She fits in so perfectly in our family.  Muli has never been happier.  Life with Zee is full of special moments and new developments. It seems like she reaches a new milestone every day . If I have said it, and every mommy have said it, I’m going to say it 10000 times more, where did time go.  Was it not […]

Safari in Africa- Luangwa 1

(December update) I have done a couple of Safaris here in Africa and in all experiences I was amazed.  The last Safari we did was in 2010.  We went to Kruger National Park and we were as satisfied as we were with our recent Safari.  There is something intriguing in seeing the animals roaming freely in the jungle. My whole body and mind get a feeling of freedom and connection that I don’t understand.  I really need a Safari trip every year ha!. When we were in Malawi in December we took some time to visit at South of Luangwa […]

December was lived-in Salima

Yes,  it is now Feb and I am still thinking of December.  For me the joys of being a blogger is being able to re-live the past by writing. December month started with Zee turning 5 months.  Then big sister Muli finished  school term and was gearing for summer holidays.  As for me, I was dying to take a break from work and spend time with my cubs, family and friends. We wanted to spend all our summer holidays with Cullo’s family in Malawi.  We have not seen them in a while.  Grand parents have not met Zee, so it […]

Joy and destruction of catching up.

Written by , Posted in My Thoughts

IMG_0663_thumb.jpg

We need to catch up.  We really do. Last night a friend I have not seen since September last year came to visit us.  We sat down and chat from evening till the early hours of the morning.  Till 4am to be exact.  Our kids slept on our laps, because taking them to bed was a major destruction to our chat.  Zee also joined the party; she woke up for feed twice while we were chatting the night away. Cullo was sound asleep in our bedroom. Since I had kids, I have a love-hate relationship with catching up.  I love […]
