Is this my shadow?

Do you still remember the day you discovered your shadow?. Honestly, I don’t. But I heard too many stories about kids discovering their shows. They were all so funny.
I remember the day Muli discovered her shadow. She was 16 months. We were in church. One lady picked her up and she started crying for me. The lady put her down and as she ran towards me she saw her shadow. Oh my, she ran as fast as she could. Once she realised she could not outrun the dark shape next to her, she cried hysterically. Ha! If she had wings she could have flied that day ha!.
Muli is in a the stage of exploration. Everyday she explore something new. Now her shadow is the “in thing”. She has been talking about it so often this days. This time she is not scared of her shadow, she is fascinated by her shadow. She looks at her shadow as she dance. She like to keep an eye on her shadow when she makes moves.
She cracked me up when she walked and look down at her shadow and said “Why are you following me”. Sometimes she will be sitting and when she stands up she says “lets go shadow”. Ha!
We had a long chat about her shadow. I told her the shadow is caused by the light and the size of the shadow depends on the position of the light. She must have grasped the concept because in the evening she switched off the lights and asked “Where is my shadow mommy”. Before I could answer she switched the light on and said “”here is my shadow, my shadow is every where”.
The best part of being Muli’s mom is watching her grow and learn new things. I like it when that little light bulb in her head goes on and all of a sudden she knows something new. Like learning that she has a shadow. Its just too cute.
Happy Friday!!!!
Take care,
