Musee des Beaux-Arts

At the moment its cold here in France. It was raining almost every day of last week. When we saw the sun shinning on Saturday we took advantage of it. We packed Muli in a stroller and visited Musee des Beaux-Arts de Tours (Museum of fine Arts of Tours).
This Museum is next to magnificent Cathedral St. Gatien. I have a mixed emotions with the ancient buildings in France. They look robust and magnificent but I always wonder how many people died in there. I cant help it, I read a lot of Ghost stories while growing up.
When entering the museum gate there is huge cedar tree planted in 1804, reaching up to 31m in height above the ground. I like those dropping branches spreading widely on the base.
There is also Fritz the elephant. I saw the locals loving on him and it was love at a first site with Muli. Everyday she begs us to go say hi to Fritzy
The gardens in front of the Museum are amazing. The lawn was looking all manicured and well maintained.
Oh! the play area for kids. Muli met a cute little girl and they played very well together. Cullo was all relaxed, catching up with News 24 on his mobile phone. Don’t ask me about kids supervision when Daddy is all focused on the news, ha!
Reading a good book comes into my mind whenever I see a beautiful garden. I see myself sitting on this benches in summer, reading a good book.
About what’s on display in the museum we nearly made it in, but Muli was not in the mood. She played for long in the gardens, the idea of being buckled on a chair did not appeal to her.
So we had to call it a day. She cried when we entered the Museum but as soon as we came out she jumped out of the stroller and walked in the happiest mood. We were convinced the “no good mood” was just an act from our beloved Mo.
Take care,
Nez
