My arrival in France.

Good Morning. Today lets go back in time.
In November last year, after a 14hour flight with a 2.5 year old from OR Thambo International Airport – Johannesburg, we finally landed at the Charles de Gaulle Airport – Paris. I put Muli on my hip, carry our hand luggage and proceeded to the immigration office and then went to claim our luggage. In no time we were reunited with Cullo, after 2 months. It seemed like years since we have seen each other. Muli was super excited to see her Dad. We took a train to our hotel, which was actually at the airport, Novotel. Outside it was bone cold.
On our arrival at the hotel we were welcomed with a bunch of fresh flowers curtsey of Cullo. We booked two nights in Paris. I could not have thought of a better way to start my expat life in France. We chatted the night away. We woke up to a cold day but nothing was to stop us from our adventure. First adventure was to find City Rama bus offices for Paris City Tour. We walked, called the office for direction, walked and walked. We were lucky to finally get there on time.
We hopped on a bus. and started the tour. I gasped in amazement at the magnificent Place de l’Opera, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Place du Trocadero, Eiffel Tower, Invalides, Pont Neuf, Notre Dame Cathedral, Luxembourg Gardens, Saint-Germain des Pres. Paris was amazing way beyond my imagination
After the bus tour we headed to the Eiffel Tower, the symbol of Paris and France. This structure is massive and standing close to it I just realised that no picture has done justice to the beauty of this infrastructure. We did not stop here but we went all the way up.
We stopped on the first floor at The 58 Tour Eiffel Restaurant where we booked lunch. Food was as excepted, divine!
On our way out from the restaurant we looked through the large window and had this beautiful view. Looking down we could see the Seine River, our next destination.
A walking distance from Eiffel Tower, we joined a cruise down the Seine River.
Looking at the beautiful banks of Seine River. (No, I’m not sleeping my eyes are just small, more so when I’m exhausted).
I got an experience of a life time. Everything went as planned. Exactly how I have imagined my first day in France. We went back to our hotel room and had a peaceful sleep. The next morning we had lunch in the hotel and prepared ourselves for 3 hours drive to Tours, what was to be our expat home to date.
Take care,
Nez
