Now that Im celebrating 10 years of marriage this year, I think I have one advice for you. Ha!. Having mutual friends with your husband and actually hanging out together is healthy for your marriage.  Add it to your new years goals.  You will thank me later ha!.  It is therapeutic to watch a person that you love so deeply getting lost in laughter with your friends and in your presence.

As working parents we hardly have time to catch up with our friends.  When our friends extended invitation to our family for a picnic at Spier Wine Farm we cleared our schedules.

We arrived closer to midday and collected our pre booked picnic buckets from the reception.  It was supposed to be a quick collection only to find out that we booked for a wrong date.  We booked for the last week of January.  Wow!.  The ladies were very kind and they quickly helped us.  Off we went with our bucket.20190105_130940We got a perfect spot next to the lake.  We had our lunch.  Kids were running around.  I was fine with letting Muli run a bit further away from us, but I could not let Zee run far.  So Dads took it to themselves to look after kids while ladies sat, relax and chat the day away.20190105_162523We played scramble.  We kept the scores and we were all playing hard.  It was motivating to know that there might be a winner.  However after the game Cullo came up with a twist.  He packed up the game and did not calculate scores.  Ha!,  No one was bothered.20190105_145413We took walks with kids in the gardens.  There is no better place to entertain kids than in an open space with nature.20190105_163035Later that evening, bedtime stories went quick.  I read one paragraph.  I was surprised that there were no question, no additions, just total silent.  They were peacefully sleeping .  Everyone was warn out.

Take care,
Nez
