Random Thoughts on Friday

For the past few days I have been feeling like time is up against me. Like its not giving me a break. Why does it feel like only 20minutes have gone by when in reality 5 hours have passed by?. Even today, I thought its Wednesday, when its actually Friday. I hope I’m not alone in this weird space.
Ok, lets try to catch up with time and be quick doing it.
Muli started swimming lessons last week and she is enjoying every minute of it. She likes her instructor. She had four lessons already and every time I asked her what was the instructor saying, she says “the teacher says Muli kick your legs, kick your legs”. Ha!.
Yesterday she did her first jump in the water and she couldn’t be happier.
I started work last week. It already seems like I was an expat many years back and reality is I have been in SA for only two months after spending almost two years aboard. I have been spending my last few days under fluorescent lights. I miss the freedom of being out and about aimlessly. But it feels good to be back in the cooperate world and be part of a huge team. I almost got used to being my own boss.
The other day when I drove into the parking space at work I caught the reflection of lovely sunrise on my car side mirror. I went to the office, dropped my bag and go hunt for the sunrise. Aha! I got the spot. My eyes fisted on the spectacular and vibrant colour painted across mother nature. I stood there letting time pass by, ignoring the fact that I have deadlines to meet. I am a star employee.
Last week Friday I had a date night with a friend. We both worked late and needed to offload stress. We met for drinks at the nearby restaurant. It was an amazing night. You could just see exhaustion in our eyes, but we did not feel it as we chatted and laughed the night away.
We left midnight, around closing time.
The following morning at 6:30 am I was already on the road. I did a steady 25km on the bike while Muli and Cullo were snoozing. I then spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing with Muli.
