Its been a while,
Yes, blogging has been the last thing on my task for the past few days. It is not a bad thing though. So much has been happening and I just cant find words to explain how much I like spending all my days with Muli. She is growing so fast and I’m glad to have all this time with her. Ok, lets get to what has kept me away from writing.
- My sweet sister’s father in law passed on. He welcomed Vuyiswa into his family with opened arms. I like that he has about 7 grown up children of her own but he found a perfect spot in his heart for my sister. We lost our father sometime ago, and it was like my sister is reliving the pain. And the pain of losing a father is just unbearable. This left me emotionally drained for days.
- My friend lost her dad too. I have not known her for long but she has been the closest person to us in France. It is a blessing for two families of completely different cultures to connect and care for each other so much that they embrace each others uniqueness. We attended her father’s memorial service on Saturday evening and seeing her fighting the pain of loss made me feel so empty inside. She has such a loving spiritual family and I am sure she will be good in no time.
On lighter staff,
- We have been soaking up the long summer days. We had spontaneous picnics that lasted past sun set.
Bastille Day in Tours, France
Yesterday we joined thousands of French people to celebrate Bastille Day. Every town, city or village in France has its communal meals, dances, parties and firework displays. Ours in Tours City was fireworks display. They were amazing. We arrived earlier and had a good spot . A front raw in Loire Valley. We sat there and experienced the magic of fireworks. When the time of fireworks got closer, Cullo’s phone battery died and I left my phone at home. So no fireworks pic. *sad*.
The display took place at the small island, if you look closer to the pic above, just a short distance from that ship in the river. The scenery was breath taking. The display started at 11:15pm. There was a sea of people. Kids had a nice playing area and Muli was all hyper. As the time for display drew closer this bridge got packed with multitudes of people.
We arrived home at 1am and I managed to squeeze in blogging time this morning because Muli slept a bit longer. Yaaaay!
Hope your days are filled with laughter and adventures.
Take care,
Nez
