September-October Highlights.

Yesterday my sister asked me why I have not been updating my blog lately. I could have easily given her 1499983 reasons why, but the simple answer is I have been busy. Life sometimes get so much busy that you leave for today. Yesterday pass away with its memories, its like you bury them with each passing day.
The problem of letting yesterday’s events fades from your memory like the mist fading before the sun is that, if one thing goes wrong in a day you get emotionally destroyed. That is because you measure your worth with that wrong move you make. Forgetting that you have done much better things in your life before.
It is important to pause sometimes and think of the events that made you happy. That one single moment that made you think like, you have friends everywhere or you are just loved beyond your imagination or you have a group of people that have your back for what seems like eternity, like your cup runneth over.
I celebrated three birthdays this month.
I really love birthdays, I adore them. I like my birthday and I like other people’s birthday. Besides the love of birthday cake, to me my birthday is like the start of a new season, the start of a new year. I get this amazing power of being able to revamp my life. Just like when you prune a tree, I also get a prune. I cut activities that don’t bare fruits in my life and make space for new growth and beginning.
I did not celebrate my birthday this month but three of very special people in my life celebrated their birthdays and I was glad to spent the day with them.
We wrapped up the month of September with my niece’s birthday. She was turning 12. It was a family affair, we had a dinner as family. She is cute and smart.
She cracked us up when she could not blow out all the candles in one breath. We do not attach any meaning in blowing candles. To us it is just fun.
My colleague and friend also celebrated her birthday in October. Since she is new in Cape Town I asked her out. And she said YES. Ha!. She was so kind to let Muli join us.
It felt good to go out during the week. We had dinner at waterfront and we showed her around the place. Waterfront was looking good under the night lights.
My cousin’s niece turned 9 also this month. We celebrated the birthday with a picnic at Green point Park. This is the best place to celebrate kiddies party. The kids played and adults bonded.
The kids did not care much about food and cake. We had to drag them from the play area to come and eat. Once they ate, they went back to playing. Can they remain friends forever, please. They are just so good together.
Happy Monday.
Take care,
Nez
