Spain-Madrid Vacation Recap.

(Lets pretend like our vacation in Spain did not happen a month ago. Are you in? . Right, moving right along).

It was difficult to choose between touring Barcelona or Madrid. We like Barcelona with its southern sunny beaches but Madrid the Spanish capital won our hearts. From Porto we took a flight to Madrid. You can read all about our Porto vacation here .

We had a very pleasant time in Madrid from the 15th to 18th of last month. Our vacation was more like having a fun time out in our home town, that’s because we spent time doing things that we normally do on weekends, like shopping, walking, grabbing some drinks, playing in the park etc. The atmosphere in the city is amazing, making a city a delight for strolls.

Our hotel was not far from Puerta del Sol – the heart of Madrid. The huge semi circular spot was full of people and there were many activities to entertain the crowd.

Muli even encountered her favourite, Mickey.

At night, the giant Christmas tree lights brought contentment to people. It felt so right to be near the largest x-mass tree in Madrid. No one wanted to leave.

There were many interesting flee markets.

We grabbed a very large churros or porras as it is called in Madrid. It is a long, thin sugary doughnut. Some people prefer to deep porras in ice-cream or in coffee and others prefer eating them without ice-cream or coffee, either way the Spanish doughnut is delicious. It comes in many different shapes.
