The Walks of Chinon

Chinon is a city situated between Angers and Tours. On Saturday we had errands to run in Chinon. We drove about 46km from Tours to this old charming town. The weather was so lovely. After we finished our errands we walked around Chinon without having anything in mind to see. It was exciting to wonder around this area. You don’t need to be told about the richness of culture and history in this town. The construction of the house in the pic below gives you the feel of its history. The wing on the upper left is constructed from a combination of timber and bricks. Awesome!
We came across a sign written Chapelle Saint – Radegonde and we immedeatly wanted to see the place. The place could not be reached by car so we had to walk. Getting there was tricky. This little girl was on the mission to discover the Chappell too.
We walked a long isolated road. There were deserted caves on our way dating back to the 15th century. We reached the Chappell and it was closed. It was fun to just hang around the Chappell.
We strolled back and drove to The Royal Fortress of Chinon. The streets were narrow and lined with shops, restaurants and houses could. This fortress was built in the 15th century though major part of the it was restored.
We immersed ourselves in military history and admired the place and watched video projected on screen and the other one on fire place.
I treated myself to the breathtaking view from the garden.
The dramatic location and views are worth a visit. A day is not enough to see the beauty of this town.
After all was seen and done Cullo and Muli hugged a tree. Ha!
Take care,
