Conversations with Myself

Last week we kicked off our weekend with a weekend getaway. Since it was school holidays we thought it will be a good idea to take a breather. We spent two nights at Montagu Springs. We had plans to pass by some interesting places en route our destination but, as soon as we set in the car Zee slept. It felt unfair to wake her up. The drive was 2.5 hours so we just drove straight to our destination.

We checked in On Friday and left on Sunday afternoon.  We stayed in a cozy Villa, nestled in the lovely greenery of Montagu Springs.  Far and far away from the busy city life.

There were some small animals roaming around. They looked like big rats. They kept kids very entertained. Knowing Muli and Zee, they were only interested in watching them from inside the house. They were not interested in face to face encounters.

Montagu Springs is well known of its exotic swimming pools.  The cold and heated pools and the hot mineral springs.  On our arrival, it was too cold to swim. We got settled and had some takeaways and played in the house. We slept very late. Zee and Muli were excited about sharing a room.  Zee wakes up many times during night but big sis was adamant that once she wakes up she will put her back to sleep. We did not want to spoil the fun, we let them co sleep. Once they were fast asleep Cullo crawl in and shared a bed with Zee.

You should have seen my shock when I opened my eyes in the middle of the night to someone starring at me. Eish!. It was Zee. She gave me her widest smile and said ‘Hi’. Ha!. She is creepy like that.

It was just past 1am. She joined me in bed. She wanted to chat. I let her chat herself to sleep.  She might have chat me to sleep too because I woke up to someone shouting loud. It was Cullo. ‘Where is Zee Muli, where is Zee’ It was about 4am in the morning. The panic in his voice though. Ha!. I told him she is with me. He came to check just in case. She found Zee fast asleep.

After 30min or so I felt her moving and when I opened my eyes, I found her crawling out of bed. With her brightest smile she said ‘bye’. Ha!. Out she went to join Cullo in the other bedroom. You got to love this girl.

We woke up bright and early on Saturday. Stay tuned for the next part of our weekend getaway as we venture in to the wild and play with the kids.
