Cape Town is a very popular holiday destination. I know so many off bitten paths in Cape Town, but for someone visiting cape Town for the first time there are three places they looking forward to see. The Majestic Table Mountain. The white sandy beaches and the historic Robben Island. My visitor’s only request was “please take us to Mandela’s cell”. And my reply was …consider it done. I put my plan on paper and wrote down every thing we will be doing together. They were came with two boys, 2.5 years old and a 5 months old.
The day for their arrival came. They flew from Paris and they booked a hotel in Johannesburg to spend a night. I think that was a good idea because they were very fresh when they arrived in Cape Town. We went to pick them at the airport.
We drove straight to our place from the Airport. I had lunch prepared in our place. We caught up over lunch and kids got some time to know each other. After lunch we took them to their Apartment so they can freshen up and rest. We gave them three hours to freshen up and rest. We planned to take a drive around Cape Town Coast and to see cape town at night.
When we were about to leave, Zee was peacefully sleeping, we decided to not disturb her peaceful sleep. We left her home with our helper. On the set time we found Cora and her family ready and our first stop was Bo-Kaap. I wrote more about Bo-Kaap here. We parked our car and took a walk around the place. The kids were running all over the place.
We took a quick trip to Signal Hill. Unfortunately the winds were very strong, we could not come out of the car. We drove around the coast. Cape Town Coast are amazing, if you have visitors around or you are a visitor in Cape Town make some time to drive around the Coast. Then we went for dinner. Cora asked for sea food. So we had our dinner at Cape Town Fish Market.
We ordered some platters and Muli ordered sushi. Strange because none of us is a sushi person. She liked it though and finished all that she ordered. Kids!.
After dinner we took a walk around Water Front before we called it a night. Cora’s husband T asked for icecream, He likes icecream a whole lot, ha!. The husband were a bit bored because Me and Cora went to town eye shopping. We lost track of time. We plotted that the following day we are going to leave them with kids so we can do shopping in peace, Ha!.
The kids were doing very good and looked energetic. We knew we needed to take good care of the them because if one gets cranky or sick all our plans will be doomed. We drove back home to rest and we planned to kick off the following morning with breakfast at their Apartment. And we may or may not leave Dads with kids while we go shopping.
Next post will be a recap about visit to Robben Island and Table mountain.
Take care,
Nez
