Exploring France the slow way

Its true, Cullo can ride a bicycle. And its true that you never lose bicycling skills. Its been 10 years since Cullo cycled but it was like he never stopped cycling. He did very well and showed us dangerous bicycle riding style that got me laughing and begging for more.
The weather was spectacular, it was cloudy. The trailer we hired for Muli was cosy. She was having all the fun singing and playing with her doll in her moving house.
We started our tour in Tours centre where we hired the bikes. From city centre there were good bike route parallel with tramway up until we crossed over to Cher river. Along Cher river the road is reserved for cyclist only. That gave us a smooth and safe ride.
Cycling along Cher start on a tarred road. After sometime the gravel road begins. There is a choice to continue and join the gravel road along Cher river or ride away from the river on a tarred road. We chose gravel road. We were up to some challenges. Riding on gravel road was coolest, there was no traffic. We chatted all the way.
We were not in a hurry, but rather we wanted to have a unique travel experience. Biking gave us an experience that we will never have when driving in a car. So fun. When we were hiring we met three ladies and one guy little did we know that 2 hours into the tour we will meet them. We greeted each other with joy and enthusiasm.
They passed us while we were having some snacks. At this point we exchanged bikes with Cullo because the one I was riding was a bit shorter for my legs. So I took the one with a trailer and Cullo fitted well into the other. Muli is very vocal about her wardrobe this days, she is only interested in sparkling dresses. She insisted on wearing this dress. God bless her heart.
This place was so beautiful giving us a feeling of relaxation.
After snacks we carried on our ride, towards the railway bridge.
We stopped under a railway bridge and let Muli stretch and run around.
The whether was changing and it was quickly becoming overcast but nothing could stop our curiosity to discover where will this road end.
Finally we got to the end of the cycling trial, and we crossed the road that was going towards La Vieux Moulin.
It was not safe to cycle further because there were no cycling marks on the road. It looked very interesting that other side of the river. But we decided to cycle back.
We cycled back to the road below railway bridge and turned towards St Martin-Le-Beau and Montlouis-Sur-Loire.
It felt good to ride on a tarred road. The scenery was beautiful. We could not resist the edge to race with each other ha! I blame the trailer that I was pulling for being slow…lol!
We had a rest at Etang des Marais fishing site.
The day did not end without some mishaps. Back to Tours centre we had a challenge that tested our physical and mental strength. Just after we entered La Ville uax Dames we lost cycling marks on the road. We were lost.
We consulted with beloved GPS. We knew we were about 10km to city centre. We headed towards city centre direction, there was a time when we walked and pushed our bikes. Anyway what other way of exploring the city than getting lost.
We finally figured our way home. At this point I did not care about the beauty of the place around me. All I wanted was a warm bath and peaceful sleep. Muli was napping in her nest. When we woke her up she refused to go out of the trailer. And she cried murder when we returned the bikes. Sorry girl, we will do it next time.
As I was sleeping that night, I reminisced about the adventure we had. And happy that that we had an experience touring Cher Valley by bikes.
Hope you had a well rested Easter Holly Days while you remembered the selfless sacrifice Jesus Christ took for all of us.
Take care,
Nez
