In the previous post I mentioned that we did not travel this summer holidays.  It was the first Christmas holidays ever for us as a couple and parents that we have spent in our house.  We normally go on a family vacation or travel to either my parents house or Cullo’s parents house.

Like any working parent, my initial plan for the holidays was to play tourist here in Cape Town and entertain the kids to make up for all those days I was working.  However I quickly realised that it wont be necessary, because kids were so relaxed and enjoying each other’s company.  They were simply feeling at home.  The City was packed with tourists, especially after midday.  I preferred to go out before midday and have lunch at home.

We did go out often though.  We would wake up in the morning, have breakfast and head to either the beach, the Aquarium, play outside, etc.  Then I will prepare lunch before heading out for our activity of the day.  We would have fun and come back home for luch.  Then have free play for kids, which includes building fort, lego, puzzles, playdough, colouring, play house and dolls, dress up ect.

20181201_184636I kept the cookies coming hot and fresh from the oven.  I made ginger beer twice and none hit the spot.  How did Mama used to make it?.  I called her to ask but she is the type who never write a recipe down or use a standard tool for measurements.  She is born a cook.  This time I needed her giger beeer receipe so much I could have flew her to Cape Town to make it for me.

I beinge watched The Queen and The River, I watched Christmas movies and loads of kiddies Movies.  It was bliss.

20181202_102109It felt good to jog regularly.  It kept me sane, because TWO KIDS plus I would nap during the day and sleep like a baby every night.  I feel fully rejuvenated to start work.  I am even confident to say I do not need a holiday after a holiday (this might not be the case in two weeks time. Ha!).  I crave my regular schedule now.

Take care,
Nez
