I am sitting here it is 20h15, I just tucked kids to bed.  Cullo is at church.  I needed to drown my sorrows.  So I reached out to my laptop, the joys of being a bloger.  Ha!. Today I did a mistake, I hit a send button too soon.  Oops!.  I sent an email requesting a quote from a crontacor.  And guest what was attached?.  The design drawings for a system I am requesting a quote for and a budget I sent to a client.  That means the contractor have seen the budget for a job.  After mourning for about an hour I said Aaag, he can use the budget as a guidance, its not a train smash.  I continued working the whole day as if nothing happened, 11 hours later I still feel a little bad… too bad…very bad….but I am OK.  Its a good thing I am feeling bad because I am finally going to drown my sorrow in this post and publish it  NOW.  Yaaay!

20180407_105617We booked ourselves two nights at Montagu Springs. Read this post to catch up on our first night and find out why Zee won’t sleep.

The following day we got ready to go to Protea farm.  The farm is 30km away from our rented place.  The plan for the day was to reach a summit of 1500m up Langerberg mountain in a very different way.  We went up on a tractor ride.

20180407_103325We drove through protea field.  Sadly the fields were burnt down by fire yet it was one of the amazing scenic views in Western Cape.

20180407_101609It was freezing but fun,  I think Muli was getting very cold.  She was complaing about everything, blankets being short, her hands being outside the blankets.  There was a time when she asked me to cover her face because it was freezing.  We died laughing but we understood she was freezing.  We were dressed warmly but the cold was cutting through the layers of clothes.  Zee snuggled close to me and was drinking warm milk, lucky girl.

On our first stop we were served fresh apples and pears from the farm.  We were told that it is going to get much more colder from now on,.  They gave us some blankets.

20180407_103300There was so much to admire, the rock formation, the birds and the stunning views.  The second stop was up at the lovely cottage.  We were served drinks and enjoyed the views once more.

20180407_111352It must have been a perfect day because the parents manage to take a selfie.  Ha!  8 years of marriage and he still gives me butterflies.

20180407_111437We ended the trip with a lovely potjiekos, drinks and desert for lunch.  Kids burned some energy.

20180407_121935We then took a walk back to where we parked our car.  Zee was refusing to be picked up.

20180407_132847She wanted to explore, which was good.  Muli walked faster with Cullo to the car.  They came with a car to pick us.  On our way back to the Springs, the kids slept all 30km.

Next post will be about a day of swimming and play.

Take care,
Nez
