Growing up in the nineties, my father was a cyclist.  He was not doing competitive cycling but he was going everywhere by bike, cycling long distances daily.  That was a way of life for him.  Using car was his very last option.  My mom was also cycling.  Therefore It was just so natural for me to find a way to a saddle at an early age. Travelling in Europe and seeing people using bikes was no shocker to me. But seeing people in some cities struggling to find parking for bikes was a shocker.  Hands up to the cities that […]

The first thing that Cullo did when he came back from work yesterday was to assemble my bike.  Yaaaaaaay!.  This man knows a way to my heart. The bike was screaming at me for a good ride.  Immediately after he finished I took a spin.  It was a beautiful afternoon.  I wanted the afternoon and the sunset.breeze.  The scenery along table view cycling road was worth it. The cycling track running parallel to Westcoast road is very good.  The problem is when you coming from the residential streets.  There are no cycling lanes on the roads and there is no […]

I feel pushed for time this days. In  4 weeks time we will be going back to SA. There is so much to see, and time is fleeing.  There seems to be so much beauty to appreciate and so much to experience. When I jog along Cher river there is this awesome view. I always wanted to explore the area.  I tried once while jogging.  The place was a bit far.  At 6km I was just halfway through and I decided to turn back.  I was not in the mood to run 20km plus.  The thought of exploring the place […]

Gardens + Bikes = Our Weekend.

Hello lovelies! How was your weekend?.  I hope you spent it doing what you like/love. Ours was laid back.  We spent most of the days playing, watching movies and chatting.  It was good. Muli has an on-off love for her bike.  We bought her a bike back on her birthday in April, she does not show much interest in cycling.  To get her on the bicycle we have to do tricks, do some magic and make promises. During the weekend we took some snacks and went to the garden nearby our place for a small picnic.  We took both my […]

Biking to Villandry Castle.

Hello Lovelies! Yesterday I wanted to spend a day working on my assignment, like an academic assignment.  It turned out that Cullo had a day off.  He wanted to spend a day with Muli at home.  A very good excuse for me to think about a quick adventure.  They both deserve a day together, just the two of them. With weather that good, well assignments could wait.  I decided from nowhere to cycle 20km to Villandry Chateaux. In no time Cullo and Muli came out to wave me good bye and I was off. Villandry Chateaux / Castle is one […]

Meet Ladybird!

Written by , Posted in Bike life

C’est avec grand plaisir (It is with great pleasure) to introduce you to Songo Indre Ladybird.  A Dutch style, beige city bike, elops 500 B’TWIN with a vintage touch.  She shall be called Ladybird. I have been a proud owner of Ladybird for just over two months now.  I purchased her few weeks before our Europe vacation.  I have been testing her to see if she is the right bike for me and I am happy to say she shall stay. The first time I saw Ladybird I just knew that she will be mine.  I needed to make sure […]
