It would be nice to add watching sunset in to my daily routine.  I actually must add it because watching the sunset brings my mind into the present, for a moment nothing matters .  Indeed, nature is fuel to the soul.

Lets go back to the updates about our friends who visited us from France.  If you want to catch up on the updates about their stay in Cape Town, you can go here, here and here.

We took a cable car up the table mountain.

While waiting for the sun to set we took a walk around, stopping now and then to admire grand sights from the Mountain like The City of Cape Town, Robben Island, Lions Head, Camp Bay and Green point stadium.   We also spotted some lizards and some funny looking rabbits, the dassies which got the kids entertained.

Words cannot begin to explain the beauty that was on the 1085m summit.  We then looked for a good spot, sat down and got our cubs comfortable.  For few minutes we watched the sky in a spectacle of colour.

And it was over.

After admiring the amazing epitome of fleeting beauty of sunset, our hearts were bursting with joy and we were in awe of the Creator.  Me and Cora felt very fortunate to find the time to experience sunset with both our families.  Cullo captured our moods in the picture below.  We were happy.

We took the last cable car down. We bought some takeaways to eat at our respective homes.  And said our night-nights.

The following day was Monday.  I organised for our guest to have a beach day while we were at work . When we came from work we found them a shade darker and we knew with no doubt that they had fun at the beach.

Dinner was at our place. We planned for a barbecue.  They were happy to have a barbecue in South Africa.  We asked them to join the locals and call it a braai.  A braai is an experience when you are not a South African. We were not going to let them go without having that experience. No braai is complete without a chakalaka. Cullo marinated meat a night before and I prepared some veggies for salads and made chakalaka.  They enjoyed the meal.

We rocked the night with our kids.

I did not remember to take pictures of our dinner, but afterwards while our guests were getting ready to go to their apartment I saw Muli resting like this.  And I quickly look for my phone and took this shot.  Lol!.  This is how all the kids felt.  Mute.  They stayed past their bed times.

I woke up bright and early the following day to take them to the Airport. Cullo stayed behind to prepare the kids to go to school.  By 7:15am I was parked at the airport for drop off. Their fleight was 9am. They wanted to arrive early to have breakfast at the airport. That was cool by me because I also have to be at work. By 8am I was at the office and I don’t know how I managed to get anything done because I had floods of good memories running in my mind.

There are so many good things about Cora and her family that made it easy and pleasant for us to host them.  I am not even feeling lazy to write them down but I feel sorry to shower you with loads of info.  However if I can only choose two things that made their stay with us enjoyable, memorable and left us wishing it never ends it would be:

  1. They were eager for adventure.  I was worried that they wont see all that I have planned for them because of kids.  But hey, that Mamma and Papa were in control of their little once.  They are gentle and very caring towards their kids needs.  That made for us to have less tantrums.  They were always ready on time.  That got me very impressed.
  2. They are kind.  Like super kind.  They are those kind of people that appreciate what is good.  You cant help it but open your heart to help them more because of their appreciative nature.  They are purely amazing and I want them in our lives.

I cant wait to see them again.

Take care,
Nez
